Roy was able to recieve three priesthood blessings during that first awful night. There is no doubt in our minds
that this helped him make it back to us. He began coming out of his coma just two days after the crash. Despite
the grismal prospects of the doctors, Mindee and Roy's mom, Flory, were confident Roy would be okay.
For several days, Roy still drifted in and out of a light coma. Doctors were of no help as to what was going on
physically or mentally with Roy. They did let Mindee know he would not be paralized. That was great news, of course!
As he began being conscious more, it was apparent to us that he had suffered extreme head trauma which was immediately
affecting his memory, sight, motor skills, and speech. A few times, he didn't recognize who his loved ones where,
which was difficult, but expected.
After Roy had been improving steadily in the hospital for nearly two weeks, Mindee was informed that Workmans Comp. would
be flying herself and Roy from Louisiana to Englewood, CO. There, Roy would be teamed up with some of the best neurologists
and therapists in the United States.
His improvements to date are miraculous! It's sometimes hard to believe, actually. He is talking better and
better every day. His memory has improved extremely. We thank God every day for his blessing of life for Roy and
Mindee.
